چکیده

This study uses EMG biofeedback to explore muscular and reflex modulation of shoulder stiffness during postural maintenance experiments. The primary objective is to evaluate the influence of perturbation type (force vs. position) on these properties. Results employing EMG biofeedback indicated no influence of perturbation type and confirmed the expected influence of muscle activation on reflex modulation.

The Usability and Efficiency Human-Computer Interface in Cervical Spinal Cord injury by Game-based Electromyography Biofeedback and EMG Biofeedback

Background and Aims: The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy and usability of human-computer interface in cervical spinal cord injury with two computer games based and EMG biofeedback. Methods: The sample size was 20 participants (healthy and spinal cervical lesions) who were selected as available. The statistical population of the study was spinal cord injury patients referred t...

Neural regulation of rhythmic arm and leg movement is conserved across human locomotor tasks.

It has been proposed that different forms of rhythmic human limb movement have a common central neural control ('common core hypothesis'), just as in other animals. We compared the modulation patterns of background EMG and cutaneous reflexes during walking, arm and leg cycling, and arm-assisted recumbent stepping. We hypothesized that patterns of EMG and reflex modulation during cycling and ste...

Physiological basis of limb impedance modulation during free and constrained movements Running head: Physiological mechanisms for limb impedance modulation

Arm stiffness is a critical factor underlying stable interactions with the environment. When the hand moves freely through space, a stiff limb would most effectively maintain the hand on the desired path in the face of external perturbations. Conversely, when constrained by a rigid surface, a compliant limb would allow the surface to guide the hand while minimizing variations in contact forces....

Generating the Visual Biofeedback Signals Applicable to Reduction of Wrist Spasticity: A Pilot Study on Stroke Patients

Introduction: Application of biofeedback techniques in rehabilitation has turned into an exciting research area during the recent decade. Providing an appropriate visual or auditory biofeedback signal is the most critical requirement of a biofeedback technique. In this regard, changes in Surface Electromyography (SEMG) signals during wrist movement can be used to generate an indictable visual b...
